How should I write a blog that goes viral immediately?
In contrast to its original meaning, “viral” here means that the blog has got the maximum number of visits and has been read many times, almost a favorite among its audience. Agreeable points over making a blog effective in order to gain visitors/readers! However as per my experience so far the title is the one which plays prominent role in attracting readers. I am a blogger by passion and profession and the attraction to my blog is just because of the title and the killer content of my blog. Instead of writing a title to the post one should concentrate on writing a title that would make visitors to click on it.

Annie, i beg to differ a little, i know this is my personal opinion. from 2006-2009 the ‘controversial title’ tactic really worked, and they were badly abused by the spammers too..but since last year the things have changed, now i have seen bloggers more focus on the ‘Apt’ title, the bloggers & blogs survive solely on the basis of the content! nothing else, tell me one blog that is wringing only compelling titles and surviving with mediocre content?
There is always something that people want to know MORE about. You have a bunch of blogs out there covering the basics of things as well as hundreds of “how to” things.
Practical advice and focusing on details that are not that widely known will get you readers who know what they need to read.
I also think there’s a whole lot of luck involved in making something go viral…someone could follow all of these tips and have no luck whilst someone else is just…lucky! 🙁

I agree with you 100% that the title is important as it is the first thing that people notice. In fact, when you are using sites like Twitter, you may only have the title to ‘hook’ potential readers and get them interested in your content. I agree that the “controversial” sounding titles get more clicks, but the article won’t truly go VIRAL (i.e. people won’t actually take that next step to circulate it around to their friends and coworkers) unless the article *really goes for it* and plows ahead with the central argument laid out in the headline, as opposed to basically backing off the radical claim entirely and then offering a much softer analysis, like I’ve noticed most articles with “extreme” headlines tend to do.

Often, these high traffic pages are favoured by Google for reasons that are beyond me — if you create enough content, you will have winners and losers no matter what you produce.
But I do notice that ‘epic posts’ have a much greater likelihood of garnering this type of traffic.
Epic posts are long, details posts that you sink a lot of time into. They are formatted for readability and edited endlessly. They can be a product review, a how-to, or even just a personal topic.
Google seems to respect high word count and originality — signals that may indicate the amount of effort that went into a piece of work.
If you haven’t tried an epic post yet, or you are experiencing a traffic lull, I suggest you get on writing one!

The biggest thing I try to convey is to get completely involved with what you’re doing if you plan to write about it. The reason is that you’ll be able to share a story rather than just another post; you get involved and you can find those small details that other people miss and THAT is what makes for good content.

I think it is also important to include a question at the end for the readers, in force them to leave a comment. At times it engages a number of interesting debates!

My assumption is, they base all data on Comments, length of post and social media. With those three things a win, you can make it well on Google.

It’s really important to actually find a proper subject. Some topics are more likely to go viral than others. In my field, IT, it’s a bit difficult to create content that would explode, unless you get access to a piece of news or have very very good Graphic skills, so you can create infograms or some controversial designs and mock-ups.
Plus, creating something that geeks would consider worth sharing is more complicated in my opinion.
Writing killer titles is also another way of getting great titles. Copyblogger had an article about that. They also mentioned that there is a plugin that shows a catchy title to readers but uses a “keyword title” for search engines. I forgot the name of it but I’m sure you could find it with a little searching.

Best way to write viral blog is to make it keyword optimized and provide value in your content so that people find it useful and tendency to share it enhances automatically. Many big organizations has social signals so strong that they do not require anything else even if their content is not so well, but still it does well because their marketing channels are very very strong that many people start picking up their content as it publishes.
